ABOUT US.

Calling all Eco-Friendly Fashionistas & Budget-Savvy Trendsetters.

Our Mission At Vintage Trainers:-
We are committed to a mission that stands at the crossroads of fashion and environmental responsibility.

Our core values are deeply rooted in:
Battling Fast-Fashion: We aim to provide an alternative to the fast-fashion industry, which is notorious for its environmental impact and unsustainable practices.
Environmental Sustainability: Our operations and processes are designed with the utmost respect for the environment, ensuring we minimize our ecological footprint.
Promoting Positive Change in Footwear Choices: We believe in influencing consumer behaviour towards more sustainable fashion choices, particularly in the realm of footwear.

Our Strategy.
We are determined to make a substantial impact by upcycling pre-loved trainers, thus preventing them from contributing to the growing problem of landfill waste.
The shocking statistic that over 300 million pairs of shoes end up in UK landfills each year was a wake-up call for us.
It spurred us into action, leading to the establishment of Vintage Trainers.

We Care. We Want Fans, Not Customers.

We understand that shopping for shoes is personal.
When shopping for trainers, we get that you want to try them on, make sure they're the right fit, and suit your style.
That's why we offer free returns in the UK.

We strive to make your shopping experience easy by adding photos of different angles and a detailed description so you know exactly what you're getting (the pair in the picture is the pair we will send!)

We make it easier for you to shop mindfully. Don't pay full price for brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma and Reebok.

Why We Do What We Do

In today's world, shoes are more than just a necessity; they are a statement of style and a reflection of personal choice. However, this increasing demand for footwear is contributing to a significant environmental challenge.

The global problem of shoe waste is an issue that can no longer be overlooked. Experts estimate that by 2025, the global footwear industry's value will exceed 95 billion dollars.
This growth is fuelled by aggressive advertising, encouraging consumers to continuously purchase new shoes.
Annually, over 20 billion shoes are produced, a number that not only highlights consumer behavior but also the environmental impact of this industry.

One of the most concerning aspects of shoe production is its contribution to carbon emissions. The process of manufacturing footwear is responsible for 1.4% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
To put this into perspective, a single pair of sneakers can generate as much as 30 pounds of CO2 emissions, equivalent to keeping a 100-watt light bulb on for an entire week.

Moreover, many shoes are made from synthetic materials that take years to decompose, thus prolonging their environmental impact.
From their production to the end of their life cycle, shoes release toxic chemicals that are harmful not only to human health but also to wildlife and the planet.

The broader fashion industry, including clothing, shoes, accessories, and luxury items, is estimated to contribute about 10% of global emissions. This is particularly alarming considering the increasing trend of fast fashion and the disposable nature of modern footwear.

My personal passion for trainers and their environmental implications drives my commitment to this cause. Understanding the extensive environmental impact of footwear, particularly trainers, is crucial in addressing the challenges posed by the fashion industry. By raising awareness and advocating for sustainable practices, we can begin to mitigate the environmental footprint of our footwear choices.

It's not just about making a fashion statement anymore; it's about making a statement for the environment.
